Con Edison sponsors a hands-on, interactive school program for fifth graders to learn about energy usage and provides them with cool products to use at home, a workbook with fun activities and an in-class program guide. The teacher-led curriculum is written to uphold both New York State and STEM education standards and can be implemented immediately at the desired pace of participating classrooms. By completing the activities in the student workbook and installing the kit items, students have an opportunity to take the energy efficiency lessons they are learning beyond the classroom by engaging their families. The at-home activities create multi-generational learning and inspire efficient use of energy for years to come.
